What Are The Process Characteristics Of Rusting Of Spiral Steel Pipes?
The spiral steel pipes produced by Longchangjie Machinery Co., Ltd. are widely used in various fields. To ensure their service life, purchasers carry out regular maintenance to remove rust from the spiral steel pipes. The following are the main aspects involved in the rusting process characteristics of spiral steel pipes:
1. Surface treatment
Before the anti-rust treatment of spiral steel pipes, surface treatment is required first. This step involves using tools such as wire brushes to grind the surface of the steel to remove loose or lifted oxide scale, rust, welding slag and other impurities. Manual tool rust removal can reach Sa2 grade, and power tool rust removal can reach Sa3 grade. If the surface of the steel is firmly adhered with iron oxide scale, the rust removal effect of the tool is not ideal and the anchor pattern depth required for anti-corrosion construction cannot be reached.
2. Pickling
Pickling is another frequently used method for surface treatment. It cleans the surface of spiral steel pipes by using solvents or emulsions to remove organic substances such as grease, dust, and lubricants. However, pickling also has a drawback. It cannot remove rust, oxide scale, welding flux and other substances from the surface of steel. Although chemical cleaning can achieve a certain degree of cleanliness and roughness on the surface, its anchor pattern is shallow and it is prone to cause pollution to the stacking environment of spiral steel pipes.
3. Anti-corrosion coating
After the surface treatment of the steel pipe is completed, we usually apply a layer of anti-corrosion coating on the surface of the spiral steel pipe. Its purpose is to enable these coatings to form a strong protective film, thereby effectively isolating the erosion of steel pipes by substances such as air.
4. Implement regular inspection and maintenance
Rust prevention treatment is only a basic guarantee. Establishing a systematic inspection and maintenance mechanism is equally indispensable. In actual operation, special attention should be paid to the minor damage on the surface of spiral steel pipes.
5. Control of the usage environment
During use, it is necessary to protect the spiral steel pipe, avoid prolonged contact with damp environments, and clean the accumulated water and dirt on the surface in a timely manner. In addition, during installation and use, it is also necessary to avoid scratching and damaging the protective layer on the surface of the steel pipe to prevent affecting the anti-corrosion effect.
