What Is The Process Of Pipeline Pressure Testing?

The process of pipeline pressure testing mainly includes the following steps:

1. Preparations

·Inspect the piping system to ensure that all installations comply with the design requirements and specifications.

·Prepare the pressure testing equipment, including the pressure testing pump, pressure gauge, water source or gas source, etc.

·Isolate the equipment or systems that cannot participate in the pressure test.

2. Vent the gas

·During the water filling process, open the exhaust valve at the highest point of the pipe to ensure that all the air inside the pipe is completely discharged.

3. Initial pressure increase

·Slowly increase the pressure to 30% to 50% of the test pressure, conduct a preliminary inspection, and confirm that there is no leakage or abnormality.

4. Strength test

·Continue to increase the pressure to the specified test pressure and maintain it for a period of time (such as 1 hour) to check the strength and sealing of the pipeline system.

5. Tightness test

·Reduce the pressure to the working pressure, conduct long-term observation (such as 24 hours), record the pressure changes, and check for any leakage.

6. Inspection and record-keeping

·During the pressure test, regularly inspect the pipes and joints.

·Ensure there is no leakage at the welds and other parts.

·Record the pressure changes, temperature and other data during the pressure test process, and fill in the pressure test report.

7. Pressure reduction and discharge

·After the pressure test is completed, gradually reduce the pressure and discharge the medium in the pipeline to ensure safety.

8. Clean up the site

·Clear the pressure test site, remove temporary facilities and restore the original state of the pipeline system.
